We didn't even hit 100k records ffs!
And no hk this isn't like a ladderreset, this is a free out-of-jail ticket, well in this case free I-R-DELETE-UR-ACCOUNT ticket. Pretty ironic that at first you deny every request for account deletion and now you agree to swipe the whole database.

You are forgetting some ppl don't like to re-do their records over and over and over and over again.

One more thing, don't delete the minnie's database... If you do reset the whole thing, atleast merge the two, like you do so kindly with accounts now.

If you want to compete with active players only, so badly, make a simple script.

Accounts that havent been active in the last few months(weeks, days, or whatever) shouldnt show when you write "top" in the console. If you want to view all the times there should be a string added, like "top all" or somehting. Think about that before reseting whatever you can get your hands on xD

Here is my 3 cents:

1. Minnie-Records ate totally useless: 75% or even more top5 times are lagged/scripted/etc Their are maps that 3 people have all top10 at their fake accounts. There is no any reason to keep this old and useless shit.

2. Most of mDd-Records wasn't record with server demos and some records are unbeatable due to mousewhell but ... there are lot of legit players and legit times but ... you don't want to have first clean database that is free from rjscripts/phop scripts/mousewhell/-128 physic hax ? 100k records with someone of the cheated or 10000 but legit ?

3. The "top" command based at "active players in the last few months" is a bad idea.

4. Don't erase times after the time that server demos was introduced ?

Not true. Atom wanted to make a Poll and i featured it here so the poll becomes representative for all mDd users. I am not interested in doing anything like that. Still i am curious.

Im against deleting the minnie records. Its some sort of memorial for other players who played back then and now dont. Also it shows how we much the average skill got up, how much we developed over these years comparing times on maps then and now. As for database reset, you should delete only the inactive players times imo. There arent many dfers out there looking forward to repeating their almost unbeatable at this time records. And I kinda dont understand this concept of having only active players records in db. If I would be inactive for some time and wanted to return to df, it would certainly knock me off that idea if I were to start all over. Imo deleting times only from the time before server demos is a good idea. If you reset all, you can by accident delete some active players :p

I think there is a lot of misunderstandings here..
first, the point is not to wipe out the whole galaxy, the times will still be there but as an oldtop instead, thats what the suggestion is for.

As for the minnie records, im not that nostalgic, actually not once i've looked at my old minnie times but even so, i dont think its impossible to save the minnie times as an oldtop2 or something if the majority of players wants it. but yea, its up to hk to answere that.

Second, i think this is the most important pointer.. every damn day there is some sort of arguing about cheated times, multiple accounts and times logged with another players and so on. I would say a fresh start will solve this ever long arguing once for all as all times these days can be verified or what ever. I guess this answeres your question wesp.

- The bot abuse (spling, tyaz, hunny, etc) are the only thing I'm aware of. Those are detectable and bannable.
- Multiple accounts and times done on others' accounts. People can always login for others (especially living close by or having similar IPs) or have multiple accounts. I don't see how a DB reset would affect any of that? In fact I've been the first to report double accounts (nova, ryze, etc) 2.5 years ago and asked for admin rights to deal with that issue. I wasn't given, however I was so kind to continue reporting accounts...after a while when no action was ever taken I stopped reporting them and couldn't care less.
