I doubt the conversion to .3ds is a lossless process, your map may have been turned into a ton of triangles, vertices could have been merged and who knows what else. In the worst case, some tedious refactoring could be needed. I can take a look at it, if you want.


this is an empty map, same texture, only brushes and stuff, nothing else - you can try if you want, drop me a mail contact, ty

Yesterday I sent you a PM with my email address, haven't received anything yet.

BTW I use Blender also. I haven't used its .map exporter in a very long time, but I remember it doing a few strange things, like extruding every face to a brush (probably only for non-Quake compliant geometry).

I'd use my own converter, though (it takes .obj as input)...assuming the geometry is in a recoverable state.
