maciek, search the map in http://ws.q3df.org here's an example of me searching for daemond-run1 and you get this map: http://ws.q3df.org/map/daemond-run1/

Ctrl + F and search for "Map dependencies" it's typically the last descriptive item in the column below checksums and # of downloads

The map daemond-run1 shows:

(2) Textures: multiplant_v2 qsnrun

This means to not get white-gray loss of textures I should download http://ws.q3df.org/maps/downloads/multiplant_v2.pk3 (multiplant_v2) and qnsrun (http://ws.q3df.org/maps/downloads/qsnrun.pk3) into my defrag folder.

This is because the mapper was too lazy to move these textures into the actual map file. Good (errr... non lazy) mappers will have map dependencies that just show:

(1) Textures: {Quake III: Arena}
which means just your usual Quake3 files (pak0-pak8) or they won't even list any cause it's all in the map.

Now, some inconsistencies with this can occur depending on which client you are using: dfengine, iodfe, iDFe, ioquake3, quake3

You might have all the textures downloaded but still get white-gray cause your executable is buggy or and this gets really tricky, you downloaded a map that has a similar texture or a corrupted texture and until you delete that other unrelated map, this map will have white-gray textures )=

My advice to anyone really bothered by missing texture: download Le black niger's all maps repack (https://www.q3df.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=625), it will give you every map from like June 2nd, 2014 and he deleted any corrupted/repeated textures. For new maps just download them into your folder (without dependencies first) and use KG7x's iDFe client (https://www.q3df.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=958).

Hi all. Ive got a problem, I cant see some textures on particular maps. they seem to be white-gray to me.

Anyone has an idea how to fix it?

I had that prob, doing /r_overbrightbits and whatever its set to reverse it, atleast that fixes the prob for me.


r_overbrightbits "0" did it for me thx
