Should maps be copyed after reaching a certain vote count?

No, this will kill small maps of unknown authors

No, maps will take ages to appear on the servers

Yes, but the rate value should not be taken into consideration. Just the amount of votes.

Yes, and only maps which are rated higher than <number> stars should be available.

How about we introduce some more restrictions for maps running on the mDd servers?
Players have to rate a map on http://q3a.ath.cx/ first before it is copyed to the servers.
No restriction on the rate value here but this will slow down spamming maps a bit. People don't care about voting for crappy maps. This could prevent releases of maps on which the mapper has spent like 20 minutes.

What do you think about such a restriction?

the basic idea behind this is to filter out shitty worthless maps, so i voted: "Yes, and only maps which are rated higher than <number> stars should be available."
I hope everybody will vote the same

Hmm the idea itself isnt bad but...
There should be a minimum vote count at a value of 3 (thats just an example). Not too big because it would take ages for a map to get into servers.
And i hope that after the required amount of votes and rating > 2, the map would automatically be visible on all servers (without any delays) :)
How about some kind of "white list" of mappers whose maps would be published instantly on the servers without the initial rating.

8-)

Whitelists aren't fair for new mappers i think. But a rating for mappers would be cool in general. That's Pan's decision, though.
We have the IRC bot announcing every new map. That should suffice.

Do you really think people will download and play the map offline first and then vote?
Well, I guess they'll be forced to if this goes through :P But if we accept and live after it I see this as something positive.
