ignore hw gamma bug

I know, I don't really know if this is related with DeFRaG but, some more players told me that they had that bug.
The bug doesn't allow you to change r_gamma, unless you put another value of gamma, vid_restart and then r_gamma 1 (just 1). The solution I found was turning r_overbrightbits to 0, and then the bug is "fixed"
Didn't know where to put this, so I drop it here.

Not sure if this is the same 'bug' we are talking about, but I had something similar with windows 7.
Every time I tried to change r_gamma I got some error saying "SetDeviceGammaRamp failed".
It was fixed after I ran it in windows XP compatibility mode.

it happens to me that i cant change r_gamma if im in windowed mode, but fullscreen works fine. prolly r_overbrightbits, since someone said that it automatically changed to 1 when switching to windowed. its really annoying, because r_gamma 1 is really dark, and i dont want my desktop to be super bright with r_ignorehwgamma 1 (or 0, i always forget which does which).
wtf i have a signature?

KittenIgnition I've got that problem too since I changed to Windows 7. I used the same version of dfengine with Windows XP and I didn't have it.
