Well, in my sense players (and the community) are what truly makes defrag. I've only been a programmer and not so much involved myself. I still have a sense of ownership over the work that has been done and feel like it is owed respect, and that works both ways - I won't let it go easily, nor do I intend to let it die and fade away. Although I'm aware weeks are turning into months and that it doesn't make things any easier.
At least you're enligthened as far as my current state of mind goes.
Things will get moving at some point, sooner or later. I don't intend to let the codebase sink into oblivion.
