That's right, I've made a movie about bot dfwc2012 "competition".
This is my first movie and I had no editing skills, so please don't expect much editing.
If you like scripted runs, I hope you like these =)

Just in case if someone is unaware, the runs in this movie are tool-assisted, utilizing scripts and special software. The game physics were not altered. Nonetheless, these records are excluded from the official rankings.

were the second half's demos unreleased? i only remember watching -0 to -3 back then, the rest turned out amazing as well, -5 vq3 is dope

If I recall, 8 demos were published earlier. These are 0-vq3, 0-cpm, 1-vq3, 1-cpm, 2-cpm, 3-cpm, 4-vq3 and 5-vq3.
4 of them were slightly improved since then (0-vq3, 1-cpm, 2-cpm, 4 vq3).

All the rest demos hadn't been published before.

Awesome work! I like that you put the ob/... hints in it so I could understand what is going on. :)

Absolutely incredible work! I admire the countless hours and creativity that went into producing these demos. As far as the video, it's really not that bad dqopb =). The movement tracers and background scripting text was a nice touch. Fantastic job to all involved. 8-)

could somebody list all the ob's used and what they are, briefly explained?

I believe articles devoted to this topic must be written somewhere..
So I'll put it briefly here:
HOB - horizontal over bounce
VOB - vertical
UOB - ultimate (same as VOB but you have to stop to 0 mid-air)
ZWOB - zero-weird over bounce (diagonal)
UZWOB - same as ZWOB but you have to stop to 0 mid-air.

There are other types of OBs out there that were not used in these runs.

Offtopic:
Remember the times when non-defraging quakers asked you like "How come he jumped so high over there?" We may need a solid tutorial with up-to-date tricks and explanations for such cases.

wow, crazy demos (especially from last map were insane), nice editing, fitting music, good job :clap:

thanks for the explanation, i never read the readmes in the defrag folder, i doubt anyone whos casually (hardcore, its been +20 years after all) playing did too, HOB threw me off a little bit, and frankly I've never ever heard of the UOB thingy before, interesting.

great movie neitherless. Hopefully we can get an entire movie of normal maps botted in the future (where creativity shines, rather then hurrdurr strafebot 50 seconds faster bcoz inhuman) :dance:
