No stop competition

Postby Finalspace » Jan 2nd, '19, 9:24 am

Greetings everyone,

since i while, i had an idea about a new style of competition, i have never seen before:

Start up any freestyle or normal q3 map in Tricks Mode/VQ3/No-Cheats.
Gain initial speed however you want and initiate any kind of trick.
Chain as many tricks as possible together.
If you stop on the ground for more than a couple of frames, the demo is done.
Stopping does not mean necessarily mean 0u, as even initiating a circle jump is considered as "stopped". But its fine to wait for a grenade to explode or a rocket to hit the ground. Also stopping while in the air is totally fine.

- Bots/Scripting/Timescale/Cheats are not allowed.
- Rocketjump or other movement binding are not allowed.
- Only vertical and horizontal over-bounces are allowed.
- Only one demo per person, so choose your map well.
- Only demos recorded in the current year are allowed. No double post pls.

And lastly, its totally fine to have failed tricks in your chain.
As a matter of fact, the point of this thing is to see people actually trickjump by hand and doing mistakes ;)

So what is the actual competition?

In a limited time frame, you post one demo here.
After the time frame is up, i will select the best 10 of them.
If it works out, we may make a movie out of that.
When you have questions, just ask it here.

The competition starts at 2019-01-02 6:00PM UTC and ends at 2019-01-07 6:00PM UTC.

I loosened the main rule a little bit.
Now waiting for a couple of frames is fine, but only when a grenade is going to explode or a rocket to be hit.

You should visit psychotherapist to find out why that obsession with chains got you :animals-chickencatch:
It started from your map finalmultibounce, and now you've come to leapfrog-trickjumping competition idea.. :eusa-shifty: :ugeek:

But for sequel you can arrange platforms for each next overbounce in a spiral progression

Plus you can "texture-count" on korean language this time :D

So not a single demo was posted for this competition and the time is up, therefore i declare this comp as a "failure" ;-(

Hmm that looks interesting, but would be really hard to make with normal radiant tools :-( For counts, i think normal roman letters would be fine this time.
