We needed a forum for internal communication. Now set one up and made it available to the public as well.

I activated the avatar image function which i seem to have missed before. Anyway it's now there and it's limits are 64kb in size and 130x200 as it's dimensions. Integrating the avatar images from the site is not possible without mayor recoding of the phpbb forum.

I think it would be nice if we could bring the pinboard back.

Both the pinboard and forum can both exist imo, and they don't contradict eachother...the forum is for more serious and structured conversation...the pinboard was just fun and kinda like \b\ for mdd

I got told the forum will get it's own link on the site when the beta page gets stable. When ever that is.

well, i had a free time and i did some local test to see what should be the best way to improve a better navigation. The key (i believe) is using "Dynamic Iframe" is more DHTML than AJAX, this iframe will load an external file and will dynamically adjust height to fit the new document, what document? -> the forum.

The main idea of this is that you can load this forum into the main page as the old pinboard. This is not a new develop, i worked with this in others website while back, for example:

I dont remember but If im mistaken the size of mdd is 950px and this forum is something like 900px so will fit perfect. if we want keep both boards (pinboard and forum) i believe the dynamic iframe is a good solution.
