Help with lag on servers

Postby riwa » Sep 28th, '11, 2:25 pm

Lately I've been laggin rly bad on the servers. I remember that the lagometer used to have a really thin green line and it was flawless playing. Never ever choppy etc. Now its kinda unplayable, with a fat yellow/green line on bottom and crazy colors in the middle also. I tried remove q3config and then exec my old cfg but doesnt help. Would be nice to pinpoint the problem.

Heres a snippet of my cfg. If its something in there.. But then it shouldnt have worked fine before i guess.. Grateful for help =P

Could you please post a picture of the lag-o-meter?

Your settings check out fine. You might have to lower either snaps or maxpackets.

Ok. Cuz its weird. I check my connection with this test site and its flawless. 95 mbit/ down and 12 up. 2 ms response. So im thinking maybe it my router or something no idea.

Are you running on a wireless modem? I had the exact same problem running wireless from my Zyxel modem (o2 DSL Comfort modem). so I put a DLink wireless router off the modem and use that for wireless instead and haven't had the problem since. Also solved some issues i was having with a strict NAT in CoD. Apparently the standard o2 modem just sucks

Just joined 78.46.88.86 server and there was some definite moving problems.
Not quite sure if I could label it as lag or not.
