So, I thought this was caused by velocity snapping, but after looking at it and reading this thread again I can't get it to add up. Basically, at high speed the acceleration just goes to almost zero all of a sudden. Sounds like velocity snapping.

But, the snapping is determined by the velocity vector right? And the velocity vector shifts from side to side much more at lower speeds, so shouldn't the snapping be more apparent there? (I don't see it at all there, I see something in the CJ and 2nd jump).

These two frames are 30 ms apart, and the acceleration in the second frame just went away. The velocity vector is pointing almost straight forward so it shouldn't snap! And if it snaps at all shouldn't it snap to the higher peek value before dipping down to the low value?

This is what happens there (pic is for 1625 ups wallstrafe but its almost the same)

Dots represent rounded speed increase, so in this pic you can accel only to side.

To avoid that you should turn left a bit:

So, is the acceleration vector snapped before it's added to the velocity vector?

So you magically cut 2ms off of the third frame? How'd you manage that, if you don't mind my asking?

No kitten, I just didn't write the whole number because it's repeating. It's 30 fps, so each frame is 1/30 = 33,3333... ms. My point was just that the pictures were close in time, the exact number wasn't super interesting.

@Nt.run thanks, then it makes much more sense!

But the game runs at 125fps, which means the only possible values there would be 24 and 32, 32 being the closest. You're using a fake frametime!! cheats!!
