@ Ghost : i usually do a fragment of the map, test it, do an other part and test it etc. Once the main route is finished i spent at least one day playing it while testing different things.

For the "boxes" on Omnitek, i have been thinking to let people go throught the windows but...the red glass textures made me crazy. These glasses can be crossed when placed vertically and not horizontally Oo so i clipped the wholes boxes ^^

I ll try to make a simple map with a main route and do a lot of side ways and se how it works.

There are a few tips to fix missing skill.
Playing with timescale ~0.7
Playing with strafebot with reduced performance. I guess lower com_maxfps and pressing jump by hand can do it.

There are still problems of finding route and knowing pro strafing techniques.
So, using pro testers can be a good solution.

As it was said before, biggest fun is not planned shortcuts.
Testing basically has to fix 'bad' elements, which limit and get you stuck.
