all the tools you can find there, unless you want to include 3dmax and photoshop, the list is complete.

Give:

- Radiant (now there is question which version you prefer, 1.4 , 1.5, netradiant...)
- Latest Q3map2 (2.5.16 or 2.5.17 (it comes with netradiant))
- Defrag.def file (has to be put into gtk-radiant directory)
- Q3map2tools or a batchfile for compiling (compiling a bsp in gtkradiant is MUCH slower than with a batchfile).
- the provided shaders from q3map2 2.5.16 (it comes with the q3map2 download)

think that are the most important.

further you can add:
- terragen
- particle studio
- easygen
- q3ase
- nphernos model viewer
...................but they are not that important.....

I use q3map2GUI. I prefer it over q3map2toolz.

I think q3ase is a huge help as well. I can code shaders in notepad but it`s soo much easier to see a preview of it in q3ase so you don`t have to keep loading up q3 each time to see what it looks like. Makes things much faster :)

I use GtkRadiant 1.4. Infinitely better than 1.5. Net Radiant I have not tried but it says it`s based on version 1.5 so that`s enough reason for me to stay away from it.

q3ase
gtk rad 1.4
a clean copy of q3 (nothing custom... to check lighting, missing textures)
defrag.def comes with latest version of defrag.
photoshop for textures
ezgen for an easy generator of terrain (with texture blending as shown in my tuts)

btw i use stock compilers for gtkradiant 1.4 maybe one of u guys can help me install latest version of q3map2 so i can do some texture blending.

I only use gtk 1.5!

@ghost: Download q3map2 from ydnars homepage und unzip to a folder. instally q3map2tools or q3mapGUI. After installing q3map2tools - simply set the paths for compiler, bspc, and q3 game dir and you'll be fine!

Maybe you can pout the exemple maps that come with Defrag in this mapping section as well (and remove it from the defrag folder also :p ), they are pretty useful.
GTK 1.4 over 1.5. I started on 1.5 but now I use 1.4 only.
I use q3map2toolz, maybe q3map2GUI is better, dunno :D .

Maybe include some set of textures, like soc's, or a link to it.
