what punishment is appropriate for cheating?

What cheat should result in which punishment?

As an instance i don't think mwheeling is worth deleting a whole account for. What other measures are out there to punish somebody for playing unfair?

I don't understand why though...he's polish and all polish people cheat. Or at least lag. Which is in some cases considered cheating. Lifetime ban + delete records please!

Nah but seriously I'd support something like this:

- Cheat using external program or anything other that is more complicated than just binding a button to do something, ban 6 months because of clear intention to cheat.
- Cheat using disallowed scripts/binds etc simple stuff, ban 1-3 months depending on the case. For example someone who just started to play could see someone say shit like "7bind mwheelup +moveup. oops, i forgot to press shift" and the noob probably would try "ohh, what's this, let's try" and get banned. Now that wouldn't be too fun. Yet still, trying new commands you don't know is always a risk and someone should be willing to understand the consequenses of their actions. So 1 month ban for stupidity should be minimum.
- Hack website to modify your records, ban lifetime.
- Come back while banned, double the penalty time set before.

I think deleting all records is just stupid. Only the proven to be cheated records should be removed. Banning is enough of a punishment.

We have Av3k that is one of greater Quake player on the world, we have Draco with is one of greater Protoss player outside Korea and finally we have PGS aka AGAIN who win ESWC and WCG two times with the same team, not mention that NEO is best C-S player on the world ...

Speaking about lagging: I do not play online with ping higher than 50.

wheeljumps arent cheating unless you delete every rec set on a map with stairs before demo-day

replace 'wheeljumps' and 'stairs' with any of the new rules

It was banned since DFWC04 and every player who use it broke rules = ban from DFWC.
