So I read through everything, and I agree with pheonix...

When you strafe through corners or ceilings it's more intuitive to call it clipping instead of skimming since you're going through the definition of the corner. Hitting surfaces and coming off them with some velocity should be called skimming since it makes sense. even before reading this I always called what <hk> refers to as 'skimming' clipping.

Still not my decision to make though.

In this context skimmnig and clipping mean translated the same thing. The player litteraly cuts a corner.
However, the word "clip" already has a meaning in defrag where "skim" is a pretty unique word. "Clipping" might be confusing.

Also "Skimming" has more acceptance among the community.
I put it in anyway.

I have been updating a little. Please point out any mistakes and suggest some acronyms that should be listed in a glossar.
This glossar is going to be moved to a wiki like site where all kinds of tutorials are.

What was a "WOB" again?
How is that slick overbounce called?

Skimming:
Rarely refered to as "corner clipping".
Method to widen a turn by jumping against a wall intentionally, eventually loosing less speed than by avoiding the wall.
The speed during skimmingis not lost at all. Moreover, it can even be slightly gained as in normal strafes, but there's little time to gain speed.

Jump is not necessary before skimming. Weapon knockback also helps to skim walls.

Please also state that its not only a wall corner that can be skimmed. Edges of roofs/ceilings can be vertically skimmed both ways - when falling down or flying up. Edges of floors can be skimmed vertically when going up (never saw it when falling down, normal landing happens instead).

WOB is equal to DOB, W stands for Weird. The XY speed is not equal to zero there. When it is zero, then it is a ZWOB - zero+weird.

Would you like to write an article about how Skimming works in the code?
