The Story of Shio

Postby Nosf » Jul 5th, '13, 9:55 am

“Wandering warrior in the lifeless forest,
Having passed the test in celestial hell.
Do not be afraid watching him near yourself
He was like you, dreaming of records as well...”

Shio’s mother was Austrian skier, the pride of her country's sports history. Qualities of a born leader and inner kindness were transferred to Shio by inheritance. When Shio was 7 years old, his family travelled to visit his grandfather, Chinese sailor named Shio Feng Chang, who prepared his physical body to an end at the age of 92 years. At that time Shio was just a young boy, but his grandfather managed to teach him a lot of important thing about life in a short period of time, awakening the mystical aspects of his consciousness. And so Shio chose his nickname in memory of his grandfather and started playing defrag.
Defrag community had many stylish, talented and pro players, but Shio was perhaps the only one who managed to reach the Plateau of Excellence, after ten years of practice. And it happens like that, human beings are putting a lot of effort to master ordinary things, and that opens their mystical and spiritual knowledge for research and exploring their full potential.
During his life he faced the player about the same potential strength – it was The Ukrainian Guy, nicknamed DeX. From the point of view of cabalistic numerology, both are clearly marked with the number “1” at birth. But the difference between them is that (recalling the words of Don Juan to Carlos Castaneda), “DeX’s Way has no Heart”.
Among all the great battles of the warrior Shio is impossible not to mention the very first that made him the person we all know...
It happened near Hamburg, in the province of Pea, not far from a bridge of suicides across the river Xpanicx. It was a cold autumn night. Trees had already got rid of leaves, and were preparing to go on a long lethargic sleep. Black misty clouds tightened the night sky as if the atmosphere of death and hollowness at the blood-soaked ground was not enough. The enemy was invisible, elusive. Enemy appeared suddenly, like a ghost in the darkness, slowly creeping closer and closer. He was already inside… And now children's voices could be heard, crying and laughing all at once. Images of dying grandfather, the cries of animals in the water. All this was whirling and beating in his head with every second striving to destroy his mind. He trudged along in fragments amid the deep, trying to escape from the sounds. Voices urged to climb higher and higher. In the darkness were only visible some platforms of meaningless and abstract forms. Voices pleaded, ordered to step into the abyss, arguing that this is the salvation, the escape. But the remnants of consciousness made their way through waves of attacks, stopping them and leading on and on. The road of the figures led intricate ways almost at the sky in a twisting funnel. This deprived of any orientation, balance equilibrium was on the verge, and only memories of training with an old man Feng Chang at the rooftop of the temple kept from dissolving into nothingness. Sounds noticeably muted, rarefied air felt just like after the storm. Shio was rushing headlong, almost losing all reason.
“I broke free!” – cried Shio, falling into alluring cage. The moment he fell he realized it was a trap, but it was already too late… This fight with oneself seemed like an eternity though by the standards of the ordinary people it lasted no more than five minutes.
After some time Shio finally saw some light. He awakened alone, in the middle of the huge deserted concrete jungle. But the absence of life and the infinity of the stone structures were not frightening him. Nothing else could have caused him to fear or pity. All those things were left in that place ... In a cage on the bridge. Some part of his soul remains there forever, he is no longer able to feel joy and compassion – nothing that is inherent to an ordinary mortal. Only battle on the edge, on the verge of life and death can awaken a living thing in him now…

P.S. This is a big joke ofc :D Taken and translated it from an old thread on df.ru, this was written by two guys who were apparently high as hell. Still, it looks hilarious imo :D

That was not about joking at all, Nosf.
The story by itself gets you 'high' if you still have a heart after beating boris'torture

Here is a hairline of natural born firstplacers (as UA_Strangeland claims to appertain, but wiper is still "always outnumbered, never outgunned")

While doesn't really know his inner secret of victorious runner, following, as he confessed at dfwc2012 zergostream, the phylosophy of "just DANO.." (in other words, not giving a DUCK)

, Shio for df as Michael Jordan for ... let's say, ctf. A hero from above:

He will continue shiolin-jumping through a new body in a world, where trickjumping is valuable, and maps are built by hand and Thought.
