You know what this means

I work as System administrator at a small to medium sized IT company.
The company has developed a flight/charter/hotels search/booking engine that we rent out for travel sites to use.

My work mainly consists of administrating:

* Linux, *BSD, Solaris and some Windows servers.
* Cisco, PFSense & OpenBSD firewalls.
* VMWare ESXi hosts
* Load balancers

And everything related, such as administering DNS servers, apache, tomcat, IIS, HAProxy, stunnel, MySQL, OpenVPN, IPsec etc. Security work related to PCI-DSS certification and so forth.

I worked with the same stuff for a couple of years before this in the mobile payments industry.

Nope, it is Europe, the Middle East and Africa. One of the regions distinguished by IBM.

Resurrecting this old thread. I work as a business applications advisor for a large transportation company (a household name). Our teams' duties are primarily to coordinate and implement automated solutions for our major customers (via EDI) for load tendering, shipment tracking, invoicing, etc. Although I am not the manager of our group, I do supervise everyone else's work, and provide direction on projects, issues, etc.

I am not so much into the daily tasks any more, but the job still requires heavy SQL usage, light Linux tasks, some COBOL, and a slough of specialized translator suites.

I would love to build furniture full time, but I doubt it would ever pay as much, and it's fine to keep as my other hobby. Guess that's about it.

I'm a salesman for Würth UK. I simply visit all kinds of metalwork/maintenance companies and sell them workshop tools and consumables. I'm responsible for 160 accounts in south-east England and also responsible for gaining new customers. It's boring, pretty stressful and high pressure, but it pays ok, and I'm in it simply to save money towards a course in sound engineering and production at SAE institute. I spend most days working, outside of that I am normally in front of my PC making music or playing games :D
